Source: waddenhavenameland.nl When you make a trip along the Wadden Islands from east to west (or vice versa), it is usually not possible to pass two tidal flats in one tide. Unless you go via the North Sea. When passing through you are therefore forced to visit the port of Nes. You can pass the flood tide around high tide.
From Schiermonnikoog and Lauwersoog you follow the route over the tidal tide via the Paesenrede, Wierumer Wad, Friesche Wad and Zuiderspruit. Then the Veerbootgat and then through the Reegeul along the ferry jetty.
From Terschelling, the tidal tide below Terschelling must be passed via the Oosterom. Afterwards there is a sandbank in the Borndiep through which the 'Blauwe Balg' runs. This sheltered waterway is located in the so-called
Article 17 area (of the Nature Conservation Act) and may only be passed from 15 May to 1 September from 3 hours before HW to 2 hours after HW. Then via the Molengat and the Reegeul to the harbor.
From Harlingen you have to take into account a fairly long stretch over the tidal tide. Follow the Kimstergat, the Vingegat, the Zwarte Haan waterway, the Dantziggat, Kikkertgat and finally the Reegeul. Draft up to approx. 1.00 m. Always consult the most recent depth tables and sea charts, the Waddenzee West and Oostblad.
